perfect?

Last weekend was diwali - and I had a lot of fun. We had fun everyday - with some social event happening everyday. On Saturday, I had my dance performance. All the girls wore blue jeans and pink t-shirts. I liked mine. Our teacher then gave us nice looking cloth pieces to be tied to our index finger and then we put some ribbons on our hair. Mommy made my hair look nice. I had a lot of fun - and enjoyed being on stage. My dad says that, most kids were excited and seemed to have a happy face stuck on them. Also, looks like the parents had fun watching their kids.

Later we went to my friends place for a party. I was dressed up in a traditional Indian dress - but something was wrong. Daddy had dressed me up - and the camisole I was wearing - was visible, hair did not look good, etc. So Dad and mom made another round of efforts.. and I finally asked them - "ata 'perfect' diste ka me?"
Both found it funny.. and they said 'yes'

dancing with sticks

On Monday, my mommy promised that she will take me for dancing. She gave me a pair of colorful sticks that I was going to use. I was so excited. We went to the Sunnyvale temple that evening. It was a lot of fun. Mommy tells me that everyone was doing 'garba' and it was fun. Baba was babysitting Anvi. We had a couple of friends there also. But as the dance ended, I realized that I did not use the sticks. (dandia). i.e. we did not get to play dandia. Mommy has promised that this week we will go and play with them.

hair cut

Mommy cut my hair last weekend. They had grown really long and would always fall over my eyes. It took some time - but now mommy and baba say that I look small again.
Halloween is coming and I am really excited. There is a spooky pumpkin in my class too. These days I go to school (Sunshine preschool in fremont, CA) in the morning. Its tough as I do not get to watch "Dora the Explorer" in the morning. Everyday, mommy and my baby sister come to pick me up.

Dance

I love to dance. There was a program called "bollywood dhamaka" at ICC on Friday. First some kids were dancing on stage. They seemed to be having a lot of fun. Later on some grown-ups started singing (karaoke). The music was set for dancing and was loud. I joined the multitude of people on the dance floor - and there was no looking back. I did not want to go home - but mommy and baba dragged me home as at was almost 11pm. It was a blast.

homework

Last Friday I got my first homework. I was so excited. I had to write my 'Urvi' 39 times and 'Chaubal' 39 times. I started working on it on Saturday. However, after writing my name 4 times, I got bored. I never thought homework could be boring. The homework was due on Monday - its already Thursday and I have still not returned it. I write 5 words every day. It will take me a month to finish this.

swim-swim

I dont swim. I do swim-swim.
This sunday we finally went swimming. I had a lot of fun. This was Anvi's first time swimming also. I put on the floats and splashed lot of water. I did not like the part where Mommy would do "ring around the roses....ashes..ashes... we all fall down..." and then we go under water. Well, I think I need to do it more times maybe.
Anvi also had fun splashing water. I think some water went in her nose as she became very quiet after some time.
On Sat, my friend Palash had come over for dinner and we played a lot.
These days, Anvi likes to do things "by-myself" style. This is causing Mamma-Baba a lot of tension. As she spills food and water everywhere. If she does not get what she wants, she keeps crying.

4rth July vacation

I just returned from my first camping trip at Grover Hot Springs State Park. It was fun as my friends were also there. We played a lot in the mud. My friend Roma had got her barbie Jeep (small car for kids). We had a lot of fun in it, till the battery ran out. I had taken my small play tent also.
There was a stream near the campsite and I threw a lot of rocks in it. Baba made me walk during this trip. My baby sister Anvi did not like camping in the evening. She kept crying if mommy put her down.
After camping we visited Sacramento Zoo and Fairytale Town. I enjoyed Fairytale land. Saw the pumpkin carriage of Cindrella.
It was very hot there - so we went to eat ice-cream at Leatherby's Family Creamery. I ate a nice pink (Strawberry) ice cream and then we came back home.

cycle time

When I was in India on vacation, Baba got me a tri-cycle. Its my favourite color - pink. I love to ride it.
Last weekend we got an air-pump. We forgot about it till yesterday. We got it out and then tried to fill a ball with air... that did not work. Then we tried the bicycle. That worked. Immediately, I started riding it - and wooooo ... I could really ride the bicycle. Yes, it does have training wheels - but Baba was super happy to see me. He says that if I practice more, we will be able to take the bicycle to the park. And my bicycle is pink too.

This weekend we are going camping. Dont know what it involves, but sounds like fun.

Back from a vacation

I am back from India and I had a blast. I did trouble my parents on the way back - but not too much.
We celebrated my baby sister "Anvi's" first birthday and it was so much fun. We had a huge cake with Mickey Mouse on it - and a lot of people too. I got lot of gifts.. (maybe they were meant for my sister - but I play with them anyway)
I am so happy to be back - because I have so many toys. I have been telling everyone that they should visit me in Fremont as I have lots of toys.

pollution?

Pollution.. Whats that.
My little sister and I have not been well. We have been coughing and little Anvi has a running nose also. My Aji (grandmother) was not well yesterday - so the doctor came home. She was nice and she gave me a candy. She then checked Anvi and me - and told us that we have a cough because of the pollution here...

whatever....
We now get to take various medicines to battle the cough...

More on India activities

Its almost 2 months since I have been in India. There are so many thing that I like to do here. This is a list of things I like to do (that most likely I will not do back in US)

• like to open and close the door for all & sundry..
• I am the telephone handler..
• lift operator..press G for ground & 5 to go up.. (Aji-Ajoba stay on the 5th floor)
• unroll the carpet after the cleaning lady is done
• pass out the diaper for Anvi, my favorite diaper being the simba-nala one. My lil sister looks so cute in the Simba-Nala diaper... (but you will not be able to see the diaper :-) )
• I love to sit in the riksha and give out the money (riksha=autorikha=convienient mode of transportation)
  

I am generous - I love to hand out money to a lot of people

• give money to the istriwala (guy who irons clothes)
• give money to the fishwali (fish vendor who actually visits home)
• give money to dukanwala.. (i.e shopkeeper. lots of cash transactions)

Enjoying India

I am in India for the past two months. Mostly I stay in Mumbai. For a week, I stayed in Pune with ajoba (paternal grandfather). My dad is not here and I am eagarly waiting for him to come. These days I watch Dora - in hindi. I am so happy that I get to watch Dora - that the language does not matter. My mommy tells everyone that I have picked up Marathi and am speaking it well. My little siste Anvi is crawling everywhere. Sometimes I help her walk. She always wants to play with all my toys. If I take back my toys from her, she start crying. In Mumbai, I love to play with my ajoba(grandad) and aji (grandmother).
Sometimes there is an exibition/sale in the grounds near our house. I like visiting the exibition grounds. They have a lot of things to sell there.
I do a variety of activities here. I love to pre-soak the washing clothes. I help aji with this task. Its a lot of fun to play in the water.

My dad calls me everyday and I love to talk to him on the phone. Sometimes I dont know what to say- so I sing songs.
